Welcome to the reality that the university does not have enough money to keep running as it has been. Every department has been hit, the administration is not trying to pick on certain groups. The two options are raise more money (state funding or tuition) or reduce costs (primarily staff). I highly urge the reasonable majority of the student body to remain calm and avoid the rumors and just disruptive moves made in the wake of the removal of Dr. Black’s administrative position. Spreading unfounded rumors that entire diversity programs were being cut do not help the cause in the minds of most students and there has been a backlash from much of the campus that is just annoyed when they realized that the protests were over the sending of one high paid administrator back to the classroom (not even loosing his livelihood like many others on the campus). Similarly, tactics like these “phone bombs” just come off as childish and will just cause frustration between the groups here.
